Product liability is the body of US law that lets an injured person pursue a seller or manufacturer for harm caused by a product. Three theories do most of the work, and the evidence needed for each is different:
A recall or a regulatory safety communication is evidence, not a verdict. It can support a failure-to-warn claim, and agencies’ own language about a hazard is often quoted in complaints, but a recall does not decide causation or damages.
